Fort Whoop-Up a National Historic Site
Originally called Fort Hamilton, the fort was built by Montana traders operating from Fort Benton. Whithin a very short time, the soaring profits to be made trading Buffalos robes and other furs broughr other traders and numerous small posts were estabilished almost overnight thourought Blackfoot country





Fort Whoop-up, an interesting place to visit, we had a tour with the Wall's It was lots of fun.
Fort Whoop-Up, as it became known, was the largest of 110 established posts and Forts.
Because pf use pf "whiskey" to "encourage" trade, the Fort soon developed an infamous reputation.
You can visit 15 period Rooms,
